Oil Impregnated Paper (OIP) Transformer Bushings

Emilie Haefely, a famous Swiss inventor, laid the foundation of Trench’s bushings business. As early as 1937 his patent for OIP condenser type bushings marked a technical breakthrough. Trench OIP transformer bushings are designed to be connected to oil-insulated power transformers. We offer the right solution for a wide range of transformers in different environments:

The oil impregnated transfomer bushings (OIP) are connected to oil-insulated power transformers and operate with the following environmental media:

  • Outdoor (transformer outdoor bushing)
  • Cable junction box-oil (transformer oil bushing)
  • SF6 switchgears (transformer gas bushing)

Trench is a market leader in OIP for decades and is known for its reliable product design and quality.
To further improve the factory performance, Trench has invested in recent years significantly into its factories and reworked its internal processes. The target is to ensure a high delivery performance with very competitve lead times.
This makes Trench a prefered partner for Transformer OEMs, Transformer service providers and of course end customers worldwide.

1937

In

the patent for OIP condenser bushings

was the basis for Trench’s leading position.

Oil impregnated transformer bushings from Trench are used in a wide variety of applications and standards and prove their reliability every day.

Bushings for IEEE                    (Oil to Air)

Main features
STAROIP and STARON bushings are the new generation of Oil Impregnated Paper condenser bushing manufactured according to IEEE C57.19.01 (ANSI) standard for transformers application.

  • Maintenance free top terminal with multi-spring contact
  • Porcelain cemented into the flange for increased cantilever withstand capability
  • Oil side epoxy insulator providing high impact resistance and reduced size
  • Embedded end shield in the epoxy insulator
  • Draw lead adapters to allow replacement of old draw lead bushings without modification of the existing stud & cable

Mechanical and electrical data
These bushings are available from voltage range 24kV to 500kV and current range up to 3000A.
Porcelain or composite insulator can be defined accordingly the seismic requirements and/or polluted environments.
Your advantages :
– Mineral oil with low affinity of solubilizing copper
– Oil volume compensation with stainless steel bellows (STAROIP)
– Designed to work under cycling load application
– Draw lead adapters to make replacement easier

STAROIP and STARON are manufactured under Siemens Energy license
